I have received a tutorial as a contribution and will incorporate it

There is a learning curve (as with most things) but I don't think
it's that steep.

Quick tutorial:

Create new app: Click Palette->New->wxApp.
Save frame:     Click Editor->Save
Save app:       Click Editor->Save
Run app:        Click Editor->Run module	

After you've done this once or twice I hope you'll find it
less bewildering.
My best advice would be to just play around with the interface.

Version 0.0.3 had no menu bars, 0.0.4 has one on the Editor window.
On windows where all commands are available from the toolbar
I feel a menu bar will waste space, but maybe this should be a 
preference you can set.
