    Hi,

I'm using bmx for generating mxf files with DNxHD video essence and has been working brilliantly. Recently I got the requirement to generate files with the new DNxHR flavour but bmx does not support it. Is there any plan to add it in the near future?

I can try to add the corresponding missing ids if there's no plan to add them.

    Thanks in advance
    Pedro

I don't have plans to add it in the near future. I've seen sample files and was waiting for the VC-3 spec. updates for further details. DNxHR appears not to be a simple extension of DNxHD because the bitstream header is different for example.

I would also be very interested to see DNxHR support added. As far as I know it's the only way of editing 4K in Avid without using AMA.

Hi Philip. We are also very interested in DNxHR support, because it's use for 4k. Do you know where to get the drafts from smpte? As far as i know, it's not possible to download the documents in draft state. We have an offical smtpe account, but no chance. Because some vendors already implemented (davinci, baselight) we are under pressure to process such files in the near future.
    regards andy

Any update on DNxHR? I'm working on a show where it would be great if we could get DNxHR files into the AVID.

If not, any suggestions for alternative (command line) software?

    No plans, no update, sorry.

I don't know of any alternative software but then haven't needed to look for it. I would assume the manufacturers providing MXF products would have something. A quick internet search suggests that you could import via Quicktime. FFmpeg's Quicktime appears to support DNxHR, but I haven't tried it myself to be sure it works.
