Hi,
Thanks for great work in this project!
I just wanted to report fairly complete success with
the IOGEAR stereo headset (GBMHKIT) which also has
hands-free functionality -- See:
http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GBMHKIT&nameWireless%20Stereo%20Headphone%20Kit
SCO works as advertised, using the kernel module and
'btsco'. Both mono playback and record do work. The
quality of the recorded voice, however is not as good
as it should (but the mic quality might be the one to
blame...) The volume + and - buttons are correctly
detected by btsco but, unfortunately, the same is not
true for the most interesting track-selection ones.
Stereo (A2DP) playing also works using 'a2play'. The
sound quality is good (as good as using the supplied
IOGEAR 'transmitter' connected to the line-out plug),
except for a rather subtel, low-level pop-korn-like
noise, which appears as soon as the music becomes
clearly audible (no noises during silent or near to
silent audio chunks).
I've made my tests (with similar results) with 4
different platforms, including Intel, VIA Mini-ITX and
one with x86_64 processors, running 3 different 2.6.xx
kernel versions.
Cheers,
Enrique.

Just one comment to add to my own post: 'a2play' doesn't
work without options. In all the cases, I needed to use use
the -d and the 'setitimer for packet timing' (supossedly
deprecated) option; i.e.: 'a2play -i -d <bdaddress>'.
