So I can load the btsco module but I cant output sound over the
alsa-driver. The headset just makes a connection beep when I press
play in xmms.
According to the "Discussion" chapter my adapter is not csr-based:
tulkar@tyr01:~$ sudo hciconfig hci0 revision
hci0: Type: USB
BD Address: 00:0E:A1:33:AD:6C ACL MTU: 377:10 SCO MTU:
16:0
Firmware 0.3 / 9
But according to Holtmanns adapter list it is!
MSI MS-6970 USB 0xff 0xff 0x0f 0x00 1.1 (0x020d) 1.1 (0x020d)
CSR <--- !!!
So is it or isn't it CSR-based? Also, if it is, is there no way atm to get
headset functionality working with this chipset.
Thanks a lot for any help!

I have a similar problem and have the same output from "hciconfig hci0 revision".
I have it working using the headsetd plugin - only the btsco (needed for skype!) does not work.
Did you have any success in having your setup work?
