Thanks Steve - I mostly understand your reply! (*beams*) I had read about the 'hide' plugin but couldn't think of what it might be for, now I see. Could I ask what are 'flavour files'? Are they the head.html, foot.html files? Another question. If you have different 'head.html' files in different directories (with the exact same file name, i.e. "head.html"), is Blosxom supposed to use the one that is local to each directory when it processes entries in that directory? (and thus for foot.html, story.html, etc.) (If so, I hadn't realised this.) And how do people generally implement sidebar menus - are they hand-coded HTML in the 'head.html' file(s)?
