After downloading BlackChat to my Blackberry 7230
TMobile, I am getting msg "Cannot CONNECT to the IM
Server (Could not find a service book entry for IPPP)
Any ideas? I have the options setup correctly with ICQ
id and pswd.
I also have a BB 7280 on th AT&T Wireless network in the USA
that seems to have the same issue. Sounds like there needs to
be a service book to make this connection work, do we have
more infomration on this? thank you.

I use Blackchat and i get the same error with the same 7230
blackberry and i use a hotmail account.
We have our own Bes server connected to Exchange and the
RIM environment, so that should be no issue at all.
I can browse all web sites and as we all know the BES server
does do the web users stuff.
What could happen is that a firewall is blocking the port it
tries to use (but i did not create the software).
Who has developed this and why do we get these errors.

Make sure you can get to web pages via the built in browser.
If you cannot then BlackChat will not work either. I know you
have to have this service book entry for socket level
programs to work

Looks like your device is not synch-ed to a BES/MDS Server.
I believe this application requires the device to be
synchronized to a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server).

Two Questions?
Can you Browse the Web on the BB?
Is it Enterprise Registered?
Enterprise Registration means Internet access is controlled
via the corporation that it is registered to, and ICQ could
be restricted.
Non-Corporate Phones, and Phones using a telco BIS server
connection usually are not restricted. Web access == ICQ
access.
