A user can't add class="someclass" to a table in wiki syntax, if a certain feature/setting/permission/ is enabled. Custom CSS is stripped from the page, even if it was originally added by a user who *did* have the permission or was otherwise able to add a class. Expected behaviour might be to either the stripping of custom style only in HTML code, or comparison of the edits by permission.
