    Spyros P. - 2010-11-11

I just want the developers know (if they don`t already) that there are newer Adsl Annex A drivers (A2pB023o,A2pB025c and A2pB026) around the net, so they could update the A2pB023k current firmware uses. Thanks

Please post a link where to download the newest firmware you know, then we can integrate it into the next release!

I've updated the Annex A firmware to A2pB026 from dlink sources. Can you please test this variant by downloading a pre version from this page: http://bitswitcher.kellweb.de/ n give me feedback if it works?!

Just flashed it. It works fantastic. The line stats improved a bit. A2pB023k & A2pB026

By the way it would be nice to see SNR tweaking in webif (and surviving restart), like DGTeam`s firmwares, in future releases : )

    spatsant:

I'am pallning to do even more: beside SNR tweaking, it is possible to cancel tones which suffers great ingress noise. With this function it is possible to get faster speeds and/or more stable line with lower SNR margins.

Also, I want to expand the DSL status page with full resolution (every tone/bin is a pixel wide), and more tabs: currently there are only bit allocation and SNR tables shown under DSL status page. I want to expand this with QLN (Quiet Line Noise), Hlin and Hlog maps, and a simple "print screen" function.

It is also possible to put the modem in diagnostics mode, where the QLN and tone measurements done in greater details (longer periods) and the line analysed deeper.

That`s excellent news. I didn't know it was even possible to do all that. Keep up the good job and thanks for your effort.

Does anyone know if there is a newer ADSL firmware for Annex B available also?

It would be also great to add a feature to define the MinINP (minimum impulse noise protection) for the downstream direction. The ADSL standard allows the modem to define an own minimum value. This would significantly help to optimize bit error rate vs. data rate on critical lines!

    markust68:

Is this feature is available in any of the annex a drivers?

Anway: the Broadcom source contain parts that telling there is a diagnostics application which can be built along the other stuff to form a firmware which is capable much more than the original. See DSL singnalling realtime etc. But unfortunately this part of the source is missing.

Brand new driver A2pD030n built on 08/04/2010. I found it in Netgear DGN2200v2-V1.0.0.21 sources. Get it here

Spatsant: it would be nice if you can tell me that drivers size (only the binary), and if you could find an annex b  version it would be a great help.

Anyway my version of BS will be reeased tomorrow for BCM6338.

The size of the driver is 583 KB. No prob, i will search for the newest annex b drivers and i will post back. By the way, will the firmware include both annex a and b drivers?

    spatsant:

Yes, indeed. This is why I have to take out the routing, NAT, PPP and DHCP part.

Currently, I have almost 200KB space free on flash, so it is not a problem if the drivers getting a little bit bigger.

At the moment I'am implementing the Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) function, but this will going to released only in the next version. Anyway, the DSL driver features are ready: all of them are implemented and working:

    1. Target SNR margin
    2. Tone Cancellation
    3. CoMinMgn
    4. i24k
    5. sesdrop
    6.pHyreXmt

    Dchard.
I`ve been downloading gpl sources all night long, i still do, from every known manufacturer (Netgear, Dlink, TP-link, Belkin, USR, Linksys). The latest annex b driver I’ve seen in most of the sources is B2pB023k witch i think is the one used by BS as well. I`m 99% sure that there isn’t  a newer driver. Sorry. I`ll keep searching though.  PS. Do you have in mind any other manufacturer ?

This is what I'am afraid of. Anyway, thanks for your effort.

Anyway, my firmware released today. The details and the link will be posted in the proper topic.

The driver the GPL includes is also B2pB023k

    Thanks for both of you.

It is interesting to see that how many Annex B countries are in Europe, and yet how old the latest annex B driver compared to the annex A versions. The difference between the two is just the shifted uplink with the 32 first tones.

Anyway, I need Annex A testers for the new version of my firmware.

I have a Siemens Cl-110 from my isp witch I use as a lab-rat :) .  It’s a Broadcom 6338 device with one Ethernet , one usb-ethernet, 8mb flash and 16mb RAM. I`ve managed to converted to a similar modem by acceding bootloader with a serial cable. So the interesting part: Yesterday when your released your firmware i got curious to see if it could run on the Siemens, so I flashed it. And it worked BUT…. I can only access the cli and only through serial cable. Ifconfig gives me only two interfaces (br0 and lo). I also get a message  every 20sec or so that a wireless button pressed or something. Do you have any suggestion on how I could make it work? It would be nice because I could be an annex a tester.

    Yo there,
just give me a direct link to newer firmware and I'll test it for Ya.
I've got 2 Speedport W500V devices to test on :)

Totally new driver A2pB030s built on 01/15/2011.I`m 99% certain that is compatible with W500V.I found it in Netgear DGN2200-V1.0.0.16 sources. Here it is
