Sound - Sometimes
Brought to you by:

BUG:
Sound (Bird.wav) only plays when I login as admin. At
program start up, it does not play -- I hear only a
"click" sound.
WISH LIST:
Play sound when anyone joins the chat group, not just
the admin. Option to turn this On/Off as required.
Option to specify .wav filename, perhaps in client.conf.
Play sound every time a message is received. Option to
turn this On/Off as required. Option to specify .wav
filename, perhaps in client.conf.

I'm surprised ! In fact, the sound is only played if the chat
windows isn't active, and if there is new message.
But, there is a bugs any way. I'll check it.
Thanks.

Hmmmm....I thought somemore about YOUR LAST COMMENT...
Maybe a misunderstanding...
TEST THIS:
On the same computer, start Bird Chat server, then start two
instances of Bird Chat client, use a different alias for
each instance of client. Talk to yourself. Sound in Bird
Chat client behaves differently in this case from the way it
does when running on two different machines BECAUSE only ONE
window can have focus -- the one you are using -- the other
window is "not active" as you say, so I hear a sound...I
thought this was erratic program behaviour.

To explain further...I was chatting under one alias, then
started a second instance of Bird Chat client to log-in as
"administrator". This is when I discovered that Bird Chat
had sound... :)
