Hi Marijn, Thanks for the report. There was an old slf4j library that had to be removed, if you update svn the error should be gone. I don't think however that Peter is already done with the new native-wrapper, Peter please comment if you are already done, than I am going to check it out also :). Kind regards, Ruben de Laat On Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 3:18 PM, Marijn van Aerle <mar...@gm...> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > I noticed some JNA stuff in the trunk so I tried building and running the > BIMServer to test how the IfcEngine does on OSX / 64bit. > > The build went fine, however when starting the bimserver through the > launcher I get a strange error about the log framework being used. Hi Everyone, I noticed some JNA stuff in the trunk so I tried building and running the BIMServer to test how the IfcEngine does on OSX / 64bit. The build went fine, however when starting the bimserver through the launcher I get a strange error about the log framework being used. Please see the error message below. Thanks for any help! Marijn, Thanx for your e-mail. This is a 'known issue'. We are using JNative as a wrapper around the IFCEngine DLL. JNative just doesn't support 64 bits mode. Commenting out the 64bits stuff of the second JVM (the IFCEngine) still lets the BIMserver JVM run in 64 bits mode. We are working on this to be fixed in the next release. JNative will be flushed and we'll use JNA. Regards (and a nice weekend!) Hi Everyone, I've just succesfully built the BIMServer (from svn) on OSX. It works like a charm, however when I try to use the IfcEngine, in this case through the Visualize tab, it crashes. I tried two versions, first I just built as it is from svn, second I tried commenting out some lines around line 128 in IfcEngine.java to force it into 32 bit mode. Both log files are below. First the "vanilla" build and then the 32 bit one. Thanks for having a look! Hello, I think the class that should be serialized is called token, which is returned by Bimserver's createAnonymousToken (or login) web service. But the token class (also UserException referred in the error message) is already declared in the reference.cs file, which is autogenerated when the web service reference is created in Visual studio. So I'm not sure if I should edit the autogenerated code. Also there is already used XmlSchemaProviderAttribute for UserException. Then it could be that I'm not using the web service correctly. This is what I simply call in my application: BimServiceReference.token bimToken = bim.createAnonymousToken(); Olli ________________________________ From: Helm, P.W. Looks like some of your users have access rights to a project that has been deleted. Because nothing in the BIMserver is actually deleted (it's just recorded that is is deleted, but actually it's still in the database) an administrator can still see the deleted projects (and can undelete them). Users can not see the deleted projects, but still have access rights on the deleted project because it can be undeleted. It seems like the webinterface is not ready yet for this kind of use. I will make sure it will be fixed in the next release (which will be available soon). For now (the workaround): go to users -> projects tab and revoke access rights on the deleted projects. You should be fine after that ( PS: 'project' in this story can be replaces by 'subproject' as well - same story). Hope this will help you along and thank you very much for reporting this issue! Hello, I'd like to know more about the Bimserver web services. I have the .wsdl file, but it contains only the web service parameter types, not what information should be given and what is returned. Do you have any documentation about this? Olli |

Yes I am administrator. I changed the database source and a folder database is created. Now I get the following message: /temp/IFC2X3_FINAL.exp (No such file or directory) In the war the file is in WEB-INF and not in temp. It seems like I have severe problems with the directories on my machine. On Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 4:23 PM, Berlo, L.A.H.M. It's in your tomcat directory (next to bin, conf, webapps, work, etcetera). Hi Time, The database will try to install in a directory called 'database' in the current working directory, when you are running, that's probably the home directory of tomcat. You can also override the location of the database in a file valled settings.xml, but you would have to modify the war file (you can do that with most zip software like 7-zip). The settings file can be found in WEB-INF/settings.xml. The message 'SEVERE: Error creating database dir "/database"' worries me a bit, because on linux this implies installing the database in the root directory of your filesystem, which is not what you would want, I will check this in the source code asap, for now could you try settings the database location explicitly in the settings.xml? Hi Ruben, thanks for your reply. I checked all the user rights. Even changing everything in my tomcat folder to rwx for everybody. Still no success. What is the exact folder the database wants to install itself? Hi Timo, I think the user running Tomcat does not have sufficient rights to create the database directory. Make sure you have given that user the rights to create a database directory in the tomcat home directory (the default place where the BIMserver will try yo create the database). I know there was a previous post on this list that was dealing with a
similar problem, but from reading those post I could not figure out what to
do. So I try again:
I installed the new version (0.8) of the BIM server deploying a war file. It
seems as if the server fails to set up the database. Here is the relevant
entry from my tomcat log.

No problem.
You could always try a a permission file that grants file access to
your context directory (and the reflection one you already had).
