Froid is slowly rising. You make any progress Sergi? I am starting up a separate mailing group for devs and users interested in this development. Let me know should you want in. The aim is to build the framework for one popular instrument we have a good spec for. I nominate the BD MGIT,HEALTH-234. <https://jira.bikalabs.com/browse/HEALTH-234> We are also meeting with JSON Plone authority Ramon next week and will start reporting to the new group. Appreciated l > 2015-03-23 9:58 GMT+01:00 lemoene <le...@bi... > <mailto:le...@bi...>>: > > Than you Sergi > >> I have been studying carefully how to implement the Froid project >> in order to make it usable and i have some doubts. If i'm not >> wrong the main function of the Froid is to receive and prepare >> data for the comprehension of the Bika-LIMS and also transmit >> data to the laboratory instruments. > > Some instruments will be fully bi-directional, e.g. loading Sample > IDs and their positions/sequence at first, and exporting their > results after. > >> >> My first doubt is about the connexion between Froid and >> laboratory instruments, some of them export a CSV or a TXT file, >> others simply allows to communicate via serial RS232 >> communication, etc. Should the Froid identify automatically what >> kind of data or what format is receiving from the instrument? >> Will the user be able to specify it? > > Automation is King! > >> The next doubt is about what kind of transformation of the data >> should implement Froid. If Bika-LIMS is willing to understand CSV >> files i would take advantage of that but i don't know if you >> prefer XML to interactuate between Froid and LIMS. And what about >> the protocols and encryption to communicate with LIMS, Where i >> can find more information about that? > > The Techs will tell you they prefer JSON as Bika has this 'API' > already. The design principle is that their should be a minimum > formats, hopefully 1 is enough, to communicate with LIMS to keep > customisation on that sided down > >> >> And last but not least, i don't really know how to implement this >> software capable of remote control. > > Give it a web interface and an IP tech support can reach over the > Internet. Many of the serial to wifi converters have that too. > >> >> I'm really motivated and excited with this project! I hope to be >> able to especify what you need of Froid implementation. >> >> I'm looking forward from your answer. > > > Ditto your proposal! > l > |
