Lung MIP

The lung MIP dialog is

After selecting a Lung window the data looks like:

The left hand image is the original data without display checked. The right hand image is the MIP over a depth of 10 mm, which is shown when display is checked.

You can change the depth by modifying the 10 mm value, and pressing Enter. This depth is translated to a number of slices around your center slice. For 10 mm on a typical CT, means 2 slices on each side of the center slice. Thus if you changed 10 mm to 12 mm, you might not see any change because the same number of slices are being used.

In the sagittal and coronal views the same CT would show 4 slices on each side of the central slice because the resolution is better in the axial slice, which is being used for the MIP calculation. In any case the depth units are in mm.
