When I try the "git clone" command, I get an "empty repo" message, and there's nothing there. I've tried it on 2 Linux boxes and 2 Cygwin boxes. Same result (see bottom of message).
Can't I just download it as a tar file?

I don't serve a git repository on sourceforge. You can use the "Files" tab to download the .tar.gz file
