hi there..
sorry for delay
created a new user this morning and tried again by running/usr/local/bin/BGINFO4X/ ./BGINFO4X.sh and i get the same error... Segmentation fault (core dumped)
is there anything that i can do that would show the reason for this.
the /tmp folder /user is empty under both the new user and the old user.
thanks

hi there, had to install the live cd as there appears to be a bug that prevents it running on a hyper v server, finally got that sorted and installed BGINFO4X again and tried and it failed. changed the IMMODE.CONF file and tried again and it runs without error but does not change the background or anything.
i tried entering the gconftool-2 code directly and this changes the background and displays the BGINFO4x text perfectly...
i must be missing something else somewhere
above was all run using the user not root.
thanks

Yes, as root.
hi there... nope getting another error now about a segmetation fault (core dumped)
i tried looking for the debug log but the /tmp/BGINFO4X/backupadmin/ folder is empty
Hello,
I have downloaded a licecd 6.4 and BGINFO4X works correctly.
Please: create a new user, logoff backupadmin and logon with the new user.
Try BGINFO4X again. Does it work? It should...
Thanks

Could you try with a CentOS 6.4 liveCD?
You should be able to run it on the liveCD. Can you test it?
Thanks.

Ok, try it with 6.5 Live CD.
You should be able to run BGINFO4X (I did it). Then, if you success, repeat the steps on your production server and check if it works.
I will wait for your response.
Regards.
