The kernel beep module has been updated to work with the latest kernel (as of now) - 2.6.16.7.
I recently upgraded my kernel from 2.6.11 to 2.6.16, and found that my patch wouldn't apply.
I will be releasing an upgrade shortly to fix the problem.
I fixed a minor distribution problem, where some files in the archives were not marked as executable. I also updated the copyright notices.
On the more interesting side, I've recently tested it with both a 2.6.9 kernel and on an x86_64 machine, and it still works fine.
Version 0.1, the very first version, of the Linux Kernel Beep Module has been released for general use.
The Beep Module lets you replace the console beep with a userspace program of your choice.
