Hello, we have started using Beebeep 5.2.0 within our local network, which has about 20 computers. Most computers use the same username to log into Windows. Each computer uses a different nickname in Beebeep. The computers run Windows 10.

Beebeep is set to recognize users by nickname. I checked the network settings, which are the same in all computers (UDP-port and local subnet address).

Still rondomly soms users appear in Beebeep on some computers, but not on others. Soms users can see one another and chat together, while some others cannot see them. Or they can only see some of the users, but not all.

There is no beebeep.rc-file. I used the windows-installer to install Beebeep on all computers.

Some team members are getting very frustrated about the app, because it appears not to be working. Could you offer me soms advice?

    Hello!

Be sure that beebeep.rc file is not present (Some old installers install it
and it is not "removed" by new installers).

By the way you can check activities page and log to see "why" some users
    are "refused" to connect.

Another test is making a ping to host or a telnet on 6475 port of an
"offline" user to see if he is reachable (firewall can block incoming
    connections from some ip).

You can send me the logs if you don't understand them by private e-mail.

    Thank you for your time.

Yes, i checked and searched for the .rc file, but only the example file is there.

All users do connect. Its just that not all users can see all users. Soms users can see some, but not all users, but it seems a bit random and at others times it works again. Also: it's not limited to some computers but it happens to various computers at different moments.

I need some logs to understand what's happening...

Just an idea... but if it is something like random events, it is possible that ethernet card goes in "sleep mode"? So the connection is closed...

Users can try to click on broadcast button to see if users became available?

If you send me the log of just 2 users who is not visible (sometimes) to others, maybe I can find the problem and fix it...

Ok, I will send you the log-files of 4 different computers plus a screenshot of the messenger for each of these computers. How can I e-mail them to you?

The computers are being used continuously, and are always online. Even when internet is being used BeeBeep doesn't connect to all users.

I tried the broadcast-button several times, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Go to "Main" menu and the "Show BeeBEEP's log".
Copy and paste it in a txt file (check if there are errors or warning or waiting for them).
Then send it to me (the email is in this page: http://beebeep.sourceforge.net/help.php)

      Hello!

      You can try this way:

Go to "Settings" - "Network" - "Configure network" and enable the option
      "Prevent multiple connection..."

After enabling the option there are NO active users visible on all acomputers. Disabling at least sown SOME active users. So it actually makes the problem worse. So sorry.

Hello! Try the 5.4.0 version. I have fixed some bugs on user searching.
(Disable the option prevent multiple connection... just as default)

Still no luck. I updated Beebeep on all computers. Restarted. Reconnected en clicked the broadcast button.

Here are 2 screenshots: on one computer (in the same network) I can see 7 active users. On the other computer I can see only 2 users.

    Best regards, Merijn

For some reasons Labje recognize other users as Local (in other words Labje recognize others with himself).

    This happens for 2 reasons.

    1) He has set recognize users with "account" or "domain account": it must be set to "by nickname".

but you have told me that you have checked this option.

    2) The second reason: the users have the same HASH code... this happens when beebeep.ini file is copied in other computers (usually with beebeep folder - portable version). The solution is:
    a) "Open data folder" of Labje beebeep
    b) Close beebeep and quit it.
    c) remove file beebeep.ini in beebeep folder
    d) restart beebeep.exe and put nickname Labje (or whatever you want in the first connection)

If you have checked these 2 tips.... and it does not work please tell me. I will send you another version of beebeep with debug message and you can install it to Labje computer... so we can see deeply what is happening...

Hi Marco. Thank for helping out. I think in the end updating to the newest version worked. And I am so sorry, but at the "labje" computer the "recognize users setting" had been changed to "account" instead of "nickname". After installing the newest version on all computers and restoring the recognize users setting it appears to work alright on all computers over the last couple of days. Thank you again for your kind assistance and for helping to resolve the issue. Best regards, Merijn

I need your logs to see what's happening.
BEWARE: do not copy beebeep folder in other PC or you have the SAME HASH error.
To avoid, this you have not to copy beebeep.ini file.

If you have problems send me an e-mail (see the website for the address) with at least 2 logs of BeeBEEP that cannot see each other.

Good Morning. We have the latest version installed, unfortunately we also have the problem that not all users are displayed on all PCs. We have set the user search at all to "nickname". The local subnet address and the UDP port are also identical on all PCs.
What can we do to make it reasonable? Many Thanks

You have to check the BeeBEEP log of the users not showed (Main - Show BeeBEEP log)... or send it to me by email for assistance...
