if i receive chats during the day and then shutdown my computer the next day all the chats i received are all gone. "save messages" option is selected. i am using 3.0.4. any suggestions?
Did you have updated with a new version? If it is true you have to mantain the same folder or delete the file beebeep.ini.
Check the log or send it to me by email (I will see if there are saving problems).
Thank you for the ticket!

This happens when "energy goes down" and BeeBEEP is writing the backup file.
So the backup file is newer than dat file and it is automatically taken...
Close BeeBEEP before shutdown the ensure a valid save.
In the beta 5.8.5, I fixed it... but I cannot know when energy goes down, so you can lost at least 1 minute of messages.

You must che the log in "Main" menu - "Show BeeBEEP log"
Probably you have not "Save messages" option enabled or you don't have write privileges to data folder....
You have to check also the activity page (see attachment).
I other case, you have to tell me your OS, BeeBEEP version and if it is possibile send to me the log by e-mail...

Suspended computer was disconnected from the power supply. After that all chats were lost. The beebeep.dat file was recreated (size drops from above 200KB to 3KB) and now contains only the chat after the power loss.
BeeBEEP 5.6.2, Windows 10, 1903, x64, Language:Polish

It is very strange...
BeeBEEP save chats on closing or disconnection... so if the computer loss energy before saving, the chat can not be saved....
but... BeeBEEP never "recreate" dat file so also "the yesterday chats" must be present...
I'm thinking about....
Maybe the "data folder" changed (user profile problem) after suspend/power loss.
Please search all beebeep.dat files in your computer...
If it is not the case... I have to understand what's happened...
Thank you for your feedback...

It seems to me that this is not a problem with user profile.
I have BeeBeep.zip unpacked to C:\beebeep folder - not installed from installer. The beebeep.dat file is in the same folder as beebeep (C:\beebeep). I have no other beebeep.dat files except one copy of whole beebeep folder created about two months ago (the dat file in this copy is also modified about two months ago).

Thank you very much for the feedback.
Ok... I will try to reproduce the bug with my laptop: suspend and then I remove the plug (without battery)...
I'm sure that when PC is about to suspend BeeBEEP saves chats...
Can you make also a test with the new 5.6.4 version or the 5.6.5 (development beta)? https://www.beebeep.net/help?#dev-version (read the instructions)

Log states Chat messages will be saved in path: C:\Users\Jackson\AppData\Roaming\MarcoMastroddiSW\BeeBEEP\beebeep.dat
Looking into the location, there is no beebeep.dat.
Where else is the software designed to save chat messages?
You can easily found the folder on menu "Main" - "Open your data folder...".
If you disconnect BeeBEEP chat messages are saved. You can see this line on log...
