Hello,

I am trying to use beepbeep between 2 computers, a PC with Windows 10 64bits installed and a MacBook with MacOs Sequoia installed. Beebeep was working well before I replace the Macbook and update to the latest version of Macos.

I need to use a VPN (proxy) on both Mac, and it was working well until recently (changed the mac). Now, even when I disable the VPN/proxy, I can send messages from both computer, but the files I try to send from the PC to the Mac are not transfered. It works only from the Mac to the PC. What can I do? It does not work either when the VPN/Proxy is disabled.

I've allow incoming connections and full drive access on the Mac.
I've added an exception to the firewall for Beebeep on the PC, in both direction.

Thank you for any advice!

Hello, I read the log and there are some errors:
    hecking local subnet forced: 192.168.71.255
    2024-11-25 08:52:50 IPv4 host address 192.168.71.33 is in forced subnet: 192.168.71.255
    2024-11-25 08:52:50 Local interface hardware address: F8:32:E4:88:6C:AB
    2024-11-25 08:52:50 Local host address IPv4 selected: 192.168.71.33
    2024-11-25 08:52:50 Broadcast to IPv4 address: 192.168.71.255
2024-11-25 08:52:50 [WARNING] Unable to bind default listener port 6475
2024-11-25 08:52:50 Unable to bind last used listener port 6475
    2024-11-25 08:52:50 Listener binds 0.0.0.0 12199

This means that BeeBEEP cannot bind a port for file transfers (this happens when BeeBEEP has not the right privileges).

Thank you for your answer. You mean on the Windows side ? (the log file is from the Windows 10 PC). How can I give more privieges to BeeBEEP?

    Two others things:
    1) when the VPN (uses system proxy on port 16006 or 16005) is active (on Windows), BeeBEEP does not find the local network:" Unable to connect to BeeBEEP Network. Please check your firewall settings." How can I solve this?
    2) Even with the VPN/Proxy off, when I launch BeeBEEP with administrator rights (so it has all privileges), I can send messages to the MacOS computer, but file transfer fails. On MacOs I got the following message: "Host unreachable"

    Hello!
Yes, in Windows, you can open the ports 6475, 6476 as tcp on the Firewall, so BeeBEEP can connect and transfer files. Which firewall do you use?
    1) I need to know which vpn software you use.
    2) I need the log also for the Mac side. Maybe your Mac does not allow incoming connection on 6476 port.

Hello, thanks for the kind support!
    1) I use ESET Internet Security (comes with Firewall). I've already granted BeeBEEP all kind of connections.
    2) I use 12vpx (not well known but excellent for China). It has several modes like XTLS or Web, using proxy (ports 16005 or 16006).
    3) I'll send to you the Mac log file tomorrow! (cannot reach the computer now, it's very late here)

    About the VPN different modes:

    WEB (default)
The WEB connection secures and unblocks all websites. It does this on a per-request basis, making the VPN look very similar to regular web browsing. This helps you blend in with regular Internet users.

All web browsers are able to benefit from the WEB connection, as well as many other apps.

    China WEB
Like WEB, but for use in China.

Our China protocols allow Chinese websites to be used without VPN, while everything else does use the VPN. This ensures Chinese websites work as intended.

Mixing traffic in this manner also helps you to further blend in and appear as a regular Internet user. Using China WEB, China XTLS or China gRPC is highly recommended if you are in China.

    XTLS
XTLS avoids redundant encryption. A regular VPN connections encrypts everything, including connections that are already encrypted.

XTLS detects when something is already encrypted, and does not encrypted again. This improves bandwidth, especially on slower computers.

    China XTLS
Like XTLS, but for use in China.
