Do you ear any music when switching to the cd mode ?
Does the bebox starts and display a message in the MID ?
Can you give us more information about the context : type of nav system, model of car, year
Thanks.

the messages from cd player to the radio are like :
18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 21
and not 18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 3F. Depending of the radio and car model ?
there is an unknow message from the radio to the cd player : 68 05 18 38 02 00 4F. And another from the cd player to the radio : 18 0A 68 39 00 0C 00 21 00 01 01 6E
The display messages (A5 62 01 nn) are using the index area (41 to 46) instead of number area (01 to 06). But not for the 07 area. Strange !!

1) the (E) before Bebox in the message to the MID means "Embedded". So, the firmware "knows" that the player is in the car. Good !
It sounds like your setup is ok.
2) Can you give us a map of messages index on the GPS screen? That will help for correspondances with MK2 (you have an mk4). Easy to change that in the firmwarel.
3) I saw "NO CD" in your log : can you post a log with CD in the CD player.
Procedure to get a clean log :
- Put Cds in the CD player
- Connect your laptop to the car, and swith ignition to OFF. Remove the key.
- Open and close the driver door (stay in the car).
- Close the car by pressing the bmw button on the key (stay in the car)
- Wait 2-3 minutes no more messages appearing in IBus Analyser then clear the log and start logging.
- Open the car with the key radio button (you are still in the car)
- Switch ignition ON. A this moment, Radio will wait the CD announce message. You should catch it with IBA
- Play some music with the CD player, then stop logging.
You can also provide a log to catch messages when connecting the CD player.
- disconnect IBUS plug from the cd player
- Connect the laptop to the ibus
- Ignition off
- Clear the log on IBA and start logging
- Connect the IBUS plug to the cd player.
You should see some IBUS messages.
4) it is normal that the last byte be different on same message pattern because it is a computed chekcsum. See litterature about IBUS in the HAckTheIBUS yahoo group (eg IBus Inside).
18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 21
18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 3F.

I've posted the 2 desired logs in next threads (sorry unable to upload in docs section).
incredible ! the byte 21 is now 3F in the new logs !!
(that byte isn't the checksum because it's not at the end of the message. Isn't it ?)
18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 21
18 0A 68 39 xx yy zz 3F

i don't understand how the display function is called by parse infinite loop. lcd_redraw_force_screen is called but this function doesn't invoke NavprintN.

yes, there is (E) bebox Ready displayed in the MID.
I've post on the Yahoo groups a log file with may old cd changer connected : http://f4.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/0Kf6QZQBbqDdL7M4GRG8cJkbaBjdvS76soa3_GCFmHhIvbIvvAtErby-gTBlHkmlc5F0AB84TANYunWUKzJOh8S1xQ4ZPhLh/IBUS%20log%20files/E39%20MKIV%2BNAV%2BDSP%2BTEL%20log.rar

"Can you give us a map of messages index on the GPS screen" => How to make and send you this map ?
About area map : just give the area index plus the position in the screen plus length
e.g.
------------
0
1 2 3
4 7 5
-----------
1=5 chars.
2=....
It's like this :
Areax Area5 Areay
Area0 Area6 Area1
--------------------------
Index1 Index4
Index2 Index5
Index2 Index6
--------------------------
Area0 : 11 chars displayed (artist displayed)
Area1 : 04 chars displayed (**T1 pushing button 3)
Area5 : 05 chars displayed (playmode displayed and **T5 pushing button 3)
Area6 : 16 chars displayed (album displayed)
Areax : 03 chars displayed (**T pushing button 3)
Areay : 03 chars displayed (**T pushing button 3)
