The Battery Optimizer is a device to help improve the life expectancy of a lithium ion battery in a laptop.

How it Works:

  1. Plug in the Battery Optimizer device into a normal American wall AC receptacle.
  2. Plug in your laptop charger into the Battery Optimizer device.
  3. Follow the steps below on how to connect your laptop to the Battery Optimizer device.
  4. Set your "Optimal Battery Range" and press the "Optimize Battery" button.
  5. The Battery Optimizer device will now keep your battery life between the set "Optimal Battery Range".

LED Indicator Meanings From Left to Right:

  • Blue LED - SOLID: The relay is supplied power/power to laptop has been stopped.
  • 1st Green LED - SOLID: The device is connected to a laptop
  • 2nd Green LED - SOLID: The device is connected to WIFI.
  • 2nd Green LED - FLASHING: The WIFI signal is not strong enough. (Put closer to your router or use a booster)
  • Red LED - SOLID: The device is ready to be connected to or receive a firmware update.

Button Meanings From Left to Right

  • 1st Button: Sets the relay (female AC outlet) to be live/hot or not
  • 2nd Button: Hold for 3 seconds to reset the device. (Resets the connection device)

How to Connect to The Device:

  1. After you have connected the device with power and plugged in your laptop charger to the Battery Optimizer device, turn the switch to the Reset/On position.

  2. Once the device starts, the red LED should be solid.

  3. Click the "Search for Device" button.
    *
  4. Your laptop WIFI should connect to the "Battery Optimizer" device's soft access point.
  5. You will be presented with a window to select which WIFI you want the Battery Optimizer device to connect to and communicate with your laptop on.
    * Double click the WIFI or press "Select".

  6. The Battery Optimizer device will attempt to connect to the WIFI.
    *
    * If successful, the 2nd green LED should be solid.

  7. Then the "Device Status" should say "Connected" & the 1st green LED should be solid.

Features

Setting your Optimal Battery Range

  • It is recommended to keep the optimal battery ranges quite sparse, I.E max > 80-90 and min < 30-40.
  • You may need to play around with these values.
  • Keep in mind: Some devices don't actually charge to 100% but tell you 80% or so.

Optimizer Charge Schedule

  • You can set your device so that it only optimizes within a given schedule.

Manual Optimizing

  • You can use the "Relay State:" button/indicator to turn on (discharge) or turn off (charge) the relay.
