What model of BlackBerry do you have, and is it a Pearl?
It is supposed to reset during this process, as the USB host is told
by the device how much power it needs, so at least one reset has to
happen.
But I haven't seen continuous resets with the released bcharge code.
Could you post your lsusb -v output?
