As the original project authors have not been seen since 2009, and have not replied to emails inquiring about how to make patches available to the general public, and as I have a large number of patches to make available to the community (support for vlan tagged packets, ipv6 support is in the works, support for looking up mac addresses and using other databases), I have decided to fork bandwidthd. If the original authors return, I will be happy to merge changes back into a single project. In the meantime, the new project is living at https://sourceforge.net/p/bandwidthdipv6
