I have started a new development effort to bring database support to bandwidthd. This feature will allow multiple instances of bandwidthd on different computers to run with almost no overhead gathering traffic statistics and posting them to a central database. The data will then be graphed on demand with php. The central idea of this project is to give advanced users a way to scale and customize bandwithd output relativly easily.

I have posted my intial revision to CVS in preparation for release.  I still have some more features I want to add to the php pages before then, but I am expecting to release next week or the following week.

Please see our running example at http://cipafilter.com/cipagw/bandwidthd

I'm a MySQL guy... especially with the 4.1 release. Will you be adding MySQL support?

Some day, it will be pretty easy to add, but I have no experience with MySQL, so it will be all uphill for me.

That's fine, as long as it is in mind. The normal HTML generation works great for me.

I'm also interested in having mysql hooks into bandwidthd.  I've been using mysql for software suport for some time from an administrative perspective (no not dba), and would rather have one dbms instead of multiple if i can manage...

Hey guys, are there any updates regarding the database support? I'd like to use MariaDB10 to store the data in it. Could I use the pgsql configuration to do so?

    Thanks for your assistance.
