Hello, This is just to let you know that Bacula as currently in the CVS (version 1.31 04May03) is at this point no longer compatible with prior Bacula clients. If you do take it, and you are very welcome to do so, you must simultaneously update everything. Best regards, Kern PS: There are several minor problems with version 1.30, which *may* warrant a 1.30a update in the next week or two: 1. Cancel prints confusing messages even though it works correctly. 2. The new multiple simultaneous job control based on Clients, Storage, ... is turned off by default, which means that some documented features for job control do not work. This was not my intent. PPS: Current projects underway for version 1.31: - adding network encryption (Dan Cardamore) - adding a heartbeat to avoid firewall timeouts such as implemented by 3Com (incompatible with prior clients). - enhancing the gnome-console GUI - enhancing the command line interface |
