a). I started off with all the names the same. Seemed to work. Then I changed the Storage Dir name to Bacula-sd, like your example. But I dont see the name ever referenced. Does that matter? What do all these names mean. b). I think the Win98 fd was working until I changed the name (of the StorageDir). Why would it matter? I thought the director talked to fd's and sd's. When I do status client prompt> WinClient it sits there and cannot connect even though I've made sure it was running. c). I thought I read that the Win client was started automatically on bootup, but that does not happen for me. I have to start it manually. d). When I put the mouse over the tape icon, after it's started, the icon disappears. e). when I type 'messages', they all scroll by, How do I reread them. f). I've been (apparently) backing up sucessfully for several days on Unix (but failing on Windows). I inadvertently used the same schedule for the Win backup as Unix--would that cause a problem? g). When I do 'query' then 1 or 2, it replies "Could not find query." So it 'seems' to be working. When I do status all, it replies with what look like reasonable responses, except for the Windows client: Select daemon type for status (1-4): *4 Bacula-Command Version: 1.18 (22 April 2002) Daemon started 07-May-2002 20:39, 0 Jobs run.
