A NOTE has been added to this issue. ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2266 ====================================================================== Reported By: wweisz Assigned To: kern ====================================================================== Project: Documentation Issues Issue ID: 2266 Category: General Tags: documents Reproducibility: always Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: assigned ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2017-02-20 15:00 UTC Last Modified: 2017-02-22 07:30 UTC ====================================================================== Summary: Incorrectly formatted references in HTML version of documentation Description: The references to sections is incorrectly formatted so that no jumps are possible. E.g. in the web page <http://www.bacula.org/7.4.x-manuals/en/main/Configuring_Director.html#SECTION001730000000000000000> there are list entries like: DirectorDirectorResource4 instead of DirectorResource4. The same type of error happens throughout the whole "Bacula Main Reference Guide" text. This is probably caused by using wrong TeX macros or calling the right ones with wrongly formatted parameters. Steps to Reproduce: Call the HTML Reference Guide from the Bacula web site. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0007463) wweisz (reporter) - 2017-02-20 22:57 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2266#c7463 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The TeX macro "ilink" gives correct results for the creation of reference links for PDF files, but wrongly formatted hyperlinks for HTML files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0007464) kern (administrator) - 2017-02-21 08:02 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2266#c7464 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for reporting this and for getting to the root of the problem. If you have a proposed solution, I would be pleased to hear it. In the mean time, I will contact the author of the ilink routine to see if he has a solution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0007465) wweisz (reporter) - 2017-02-21 18:29 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2266#c7465 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I don't have any clue for a solution. I've spent quite some time. Using the ilink definition of bacula.sty in a test file loading the packages html and hyperref and compiled with latex2html worked as expected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0007466) kern (administrator) - 2017-02-22 07:30 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2266#c7466 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The person who is responsible for those macros is currently working on converting the manual to a new set of macros that will be common between the community and enterprise versions and thus improve both products by having the text in only one place rather than several as is currently the case. He is currently working on exactly this problem, but in the context of the "new" manual, and consequently it is unlikely we will have the time to fix the current manual, but hopefully his work will be finished shortly (another month or two). Bottom line: we have already been working on the problem, and it will be resolved in the near future. In the mean time, I will leave this bug open.
