The following issue has been CLOSED ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2003 ====================================================================== Reported By: monnerat Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 2003 Category: Storage Daemon Reproducibility: always Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: closed Resolution: added to TODO list Fixed in Version: ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2013-04-29 12:31 BST Last Modified: 2013-05-10 09:04 BST ====================================================================== Summary: Cannot backup to a subdirectory of a mounted file system. Description: If a device is configured with the archive device as a subdirectory of the mount point and "Requires Mount = yes", the storage daemon keeps issuing an error (no such file or directory) and there is no possibility for a backup to succeed. I suspect the existence of the "Archive Device" directory is monitored BEFORE issuing the "Mount Command", thus preventing to see the effective directory hierarchy. As a proof and workaround, if I create the (empty) target "Archive Device" directory on the bare (i.e.: unmounted) mount point, the problem disappears and the backup is effectively stored on the mounted file system. Steps to Reproduce: Device { Name = NAS Media Type = File Archive Device = /media/backup/bacula Mount Point = /media/backup Requires Mount = Yes Mount Command = "sudo mount -t cifs -o <<<options>>> //machine/export %m" Unmount Command = "sudo umount '%m'" LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media Random Access = Yes; AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it RemovableMedia = no; AlwaysOpen = no; } Please note the "Archive Device" and "Mount Point" in the configuration above. Additional Information: The Mount Point directive was written for DVD devices which we no longer support. It was never implemented for files, so this request is really a feature request. I can admit that it would be nice to have, but it is code needs to be implemented. For the moment, the only workaround you have is to mount the NAS (I assume) and make sure the Archive Device is always available prior to starting the job. ====================================================================== Issue History Date Modified Username Field Change ====================================================================== 2013-04-29 12:31 monnerat New Issue 2013-05-10 09:04 kern Status new => closed 2013-05-10 09:04 kern Resolution open => added to TODO list 2013-05-10 09:04 kern Additional Information Updated ====================================================================== |
