A NOTE has been added to this issue. ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849 ====================================================================== Reported By: aryder Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 1849 Category: bat Reproducibility: always Severity: crash Priority: normal Status: feedback ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2012-03-21 22:24 GMT Last Modified: 2012-03-31 23:55 BST ====================================================================== Summary: Repeated crashing of BAT gui when moving between/closing tabs Description: When I'm either moving to another open tab or closing the current one bat will randomly but consistently crash. I have not seen any real consistency of this being triggered when closing/switching between any peticular tabs. Unfortunately the problem seems to be in the Windows Qt libraries. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006223) kern (administrator) - 2012-03-22 04:37 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6223 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, I missed your note -- didn't scroll down far enough. Would you also confirm your Director version? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006224) aryder (reporter) - 2012-03-22 05:05 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6224 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The director version is also 5.2.6 (Feb 21, 2012) The install on the server running the director was compiled from source. I have the director and storage as well as a file-daemon running on Debian and the Windows server has the x64 file-daemon and the bat gui. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006225) kern (administrator) - 2012-03-22 05:09 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6225 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, I am a bit busy right now (major Enterprise release), but I will be able to look at this either this weekend or next week. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006245) wrightsonm (reporter) - 2012-03-23 19:05 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6245 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I have noticed a crashing issue with BAT on Windows 7. If the Director is connected then somehow disconnects i.e. wireless connection drops temporarily and then the first action the user performs is a bacula-dir.conf reload, the application crashes. The reload performs just fine when the director is connected. As a test: 1) Open bat and ensure director is connected. 2) remove ethernet cable 3) right click director and choose reload bacula-dir.conf 4) wait til the application crashes. I think the software is missing some timeout code? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006258) aryder (reporter) - 2012-03-30 01:54 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6258 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If theres anything I can do to give you some debugging info to make your life a bit easier please let me know ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006261) kern (administrator) - 2012-03-30 19:41 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6261 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I am unable to produce your crash. Tested on Windows Server 2008R2. Where did you get your binaries? What are the *exact* Director and Bat versions? (I see you said that bat is 5.2.6, but please confirm as well as the Director). What is the OS and OS version the Director is running on? If the above answers are all in order, you will need to run bat under the debugger. I will tell you how to do that after I see your responses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006271) wrightsonm (reporter) - 2012-03-31 23:55 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1849#c6271 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hmm interesting. I'm currently running Windows 7 x64 BAT v 5.2.5 (26 Jan 2012) and Bacula-dir: Backup-dir Version: 5.2.6 (21 February 2012) x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu unknown unknown This is a custom compile to run on a Synology DS1511+ NAS with Intel Atom D520 Processor. I realise that my particular build of bacula-dir is more or less unreproducable however I think the issue is within BAT rather than bacula-dir. I will updrade to 5.2.6 version of BAT. If you could provide debugger guidelines for BAT I could look into the problem further Issue History Date Modified Username Field Change ====================================================================== 2012-03-21 22:24 aryder New Issue 2012-03-21 22:26 aryder Note Added: 0006219 2012-03-22 04:32 kern Note Added: 0006221 2012-03-22 04:32 kern Status new => feedback 2012-03-22 04:37 kern Note Added: 0006223 2012-03-22 05:02 aryder Note Added: 0006224 2012-03-22 05:02 aryder Status feedback => new 2012-03-22 05:05 aryder Note Edited: 0006224 2012-03-22 05:09 kern Note Added: 0006225 2012-03-23 19:05 wrightsonm Note Added: 0006245 2012-03-30 01:54 aryder Note Added: 0006258 2012-03-30 19:41 kern Note Added: 0006261 2012-03-30 19:41 kern Status new => feedback 2012-03-31 23:55 wrightsonm Note Added: 0006271 ====================================================================== |
