The issue 0001796 has been set as DUPLICATE OF the following issue. ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781 ====================================================================== Reported By: sistemas Assigned To: ebollengier ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 1781 Category: bat Reproducibility: always Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: feedback ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2011-11-04 07:59 UTC Last Modified: 2011-11-30 07:55 UTC ====================================================================== Summary: The new bRestore panel doesn't show any directory/file when selecting windows clients Description: BACULA/BAT VERSION: 5.2.1 When we select jobs from WINDOWS clients, in the "File List" panel only appears the following line (ALWAYS): Type -- File Name -- Size -- Date DIR -- . -- 0 B -- 1970-01-01 01:00:00 And f I try to expand that line, apparently nothing happens Steps to Reproduce: In the bRestore Panel: 1- in the client drop down: Select a WINDOWS client 2- in the job list drop down: Select any job * apparently behavior is always the same no matter job type (full/incremental/differential) or state of "view all versions" and "merge jobs" options (marked/unmarked) 3-that's all: after processing the selection in the File List panel only appears the descripted line Additional Information: The problem only appears selecting jobs from WINDOWS clients: on Linux/Solaris clients information is shown correctly ====================================================================== Relationships ID Summary ---------------------------------------------------------------------- has duplicate 0001796 Cannot restore using bat and bRestore ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006034) ebollengier (administrator) - 2011-11-04 09:25 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781#c6034 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your feedback. The current git code on bacula.org contains a fix for this issue, feel free to test it and report feedback in case of something still doesn't work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006035) sistemas (reporter) - 2011-11-09 08:35 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781#c6035 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I've applied the attached patch (1781.patch) to src/cats/bvfs.c, recompiled bat (well...really recompiled everything: make distclean, configure -enable-bat, make, make install) and tested again...WITH SAME RESULTS, so problem persists. NOTE: Apparently the patch only "truncate" the path string (if path refers to a windows PATH), but the problem is that in the bRestore->File List panel appears *ONE ENTRY* BUT *ALWAYS* with SAME (AND INCORRECT) data: - size: 0 Bytes - date: 1970-01-01 Perhaps this patch (1781) solves a different problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006036) ebollengier (administrator) - 2011-11-09 08:46 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781#c6036 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If the catalog doesn't contain the right information for a path (for example, you backup c:/test, so we don't have information for c:/), we have to display some incorrect data. (feel free to propose an idea or submit a patch that will display something else). You probably have to rebuild the cache for this backup. UPDATE Job SET HasCache=0; TRUNCATE PathHierarchy; TRUNCATE PathVisibility; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006037) sistemas (reporter) - 2011-11-09 10:42 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781#c6037 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I've tested the problem with a Job done two days ago (several days after upgrade bacula -and the catalog- from 5.0.3 to 5.2.1) Info about the job: - fileset used: FileSet { Name = "copia_pod-hera" Include { Options { onefs=no; ignorecase=yes; noatime=yes; signature=MD5; compression=GZIP2 } File = E:/Backup/deibd } } - result of the job: completed: succesfully level: full files: 3 size: 311,189,010 Tests done: 1) cleared cache of this job (as you suggested) 2) tried to restore using the bRestore panel of BAT shows the problem described * I've observed that cache was regenerated again 3) tried to restore using restore command from bconsole: OK * navigating through directory tree to select a file to restore runs perfectly from bconsole I suppose restore command from bconsole uses same data/queries than bRestore panel from BAT. If this is true, then problem affects onyl BAT, not catalog/cache and apparently is not a catalog content problem (cause cache has benn rebuilt and restore from bconsole runs OK). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006076) sistemas (reporter) - 2011-11-30 04:56 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1781#c6076 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- After upgrade to bacula 5.2.2 problem persists. I've seen another bug opened today (001796) that apparently reports the same problem, so perhaps it is not an isolated case but a generalized problem.
