The following issue has been CLOSED ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1337 ====================================================================== Reported By: gavbaa Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 1337 Category: configure/build process Reproducibility: always Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: closed Resolution: fixed Fixed in Version: 3.0.3 ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2009-07-17 16:04 BST Last Modified: 2009-07-25 15:39 BST ====================================================================== Summary: Console tries to build with SSL when libssl-dev not installed. Description: It appears there's a configure problem for the bconsole build. I had a pretty base Debian Lenny system without libssl-dev installed. I did a plain ./configure --with-sqlite3, and everything built but the console, which errored, unable to find the SSL libraries. Shouldn't configure either default to SSL, or not include the -lssl by default if the lib is missing? ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0004459) kern (administrator) - 2009-07-17 16:14 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1337#c4459 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Please show us what happened by providing the exact ./configure command, all the output, and the make command with all the output. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0004460) gavbaa (reporter) - 2009-07-20 15:29 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1337#c4460 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Configure called as: ./configure --enable-client-only . I've also done the same experiment for a server build ./configure --with-sqlite3 with the same results. I've attached the configure and make results. You'll notice that twice in the configure script it notices that OpenSSL is not found. Then, for both bacula-fd and console, it uses "-lssl", which of course is unsuccessful. If SSL is required, I'd hope that ./configure would error on it. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0004472) kern (administrator) - 2009-07-22 16:06 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1337#c4472 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I've made a change to configure.in that should correct this problem. It is committed to the SVN. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0004474) kern (administrator) - 2009-07-25 15:39 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1337#c4474 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I am closing this because I believe it is fixed. If not, please reopen the bug and report why.
