Just for grins, I recently loaded a Fedora 7 from a LiveCD on my laptop=20 (installing from a LiveCD is rather cool). They seem to have made a lot of= =20 progress since FC5, which was a disaster for me, but they still don't check= =20 all of their rpms very well. =20 =46or example, they apparently have Qt4 and the Qt4 development libraries=20 available, at least you can download an rpm and install it. However, their= =20 silly qt4-devel package doesn't contain any binaries, headers, or libaries = =2D-=20 really cool Fedora :-( Well aside from that the system runs really well -- oh there is one small=20 non-Fedora problem -- the KDE Kmail IMAP and SMTP dialogs are too big to fi= t=20 on my screen and cannot be resized, which means that you need to know how t= o=20 use the OK button accelerator or you cannot answer OK. So thanks to Fedora, I have separated the qwt code out of the current depkg= s=20 package and created a new depkgs-qt that has both Qt4 (4.3) and the qwt=20 package (Graphics library). =20 This means that as long as you have a reasonably recent GNU g++ compiler an= d=20 tools (make, ...) on your machine, you will be able to build bat.
