I didn't actually try this patch, but was thinking something similar couple of months back. In my case NewFileList located to /dev/shm wouldn't be very sensible and most probably wouldn't work at all - I need to backup servers with tens of millions of small files and NewFileList can be around 600 megabytes in size. So if future versions of BackupPC are going to support this functionality, please make it as a new configuration option. Best regards, Janne Pikkarainen |
