(and sorry for my english). By far the best method is with dd, or dd_rescue (which adds errror recovery and progress information). The method I followed recently was dd from the old drive to the new array, followed by fdisk to delete the partition and re-create (with identical starting position) to take up the full disk, followed by a filesystem resize. This has worked quite well for me and certainly solves the issue of the hard links etc...
