Hello, Some of my workstations do not run 24h/day. So backuppc try to backup this workstations evcery hour, naturaly without success. How is the design of backuppc? Do it try a ping and only if ping returns an success it try a backup or do it try the backup without trying a ping? Sometimes I find in the logfiles messages like: 2007-09-08 13:03:42 Backup aborted (Tar exited with error 65280 () status) 2007-09-08 14:00:14 ping too slow: 25.06msec 2007-09-08 15:00:08 ping too slow: 31.32msec 2007-09-08 16:00:08 full backup started for directory / 2007-09-08 16:54:29 Got fatal error during xfer (Unexpected end of tar archive) 2007-09-08 16:54:44 Backup aborted (lost network connection during backup) 2007-09-08 16:54:45 Saved partial dump 27 2007-09-08 17:00:22 no ping response 2007-09-08 18:03:04 ping too slow: 28.88msec 2007-09-08 19:00:15 full backup started for directory / so I assume that backuppc ping the client before it try a backup. br Matthias -- Don't Panic |
