Hi I would like to have BackupPc to backup my workstation on a remowable USB-disk. I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 64-bit edition. I have changed in /etc/backuppc/localhost.pl to: $Conf{XferMethod} = 'tar'; $Conf{TarShareName} = ['/home']; And that backups my home-directory to /var/lib/backuppc/pc/localhost, and my backups get browseble through the web-interface. Now I would like to get the archive to my USB-disk instead. I have tried to change $Conf{XferMethod} = 'tar'; to $Conf{XferMethod} = 'archive'; in localhost.pl, and set $Conf{ArchiveDest} = '/media/My\ Book'; (the disk gets mounted in /media as My Book) in /etc/backuppc/configure.pl, and adjusted the permissions to 777. I'm not sure if it's proper to write /media/My\ Book, but I have tried anything that I can think of. In the web-interface I get the option to create an archive on localhost, with the path I have specified i $Conf{ArchiveDest}. Every time I try I get an error that eighter the file already exists Backuppc_ArchiveHosts on line 100, or that the permission was denied to create the tar archive in /media/My\ Book. I have tried to run the tar-program with sudo, and added backuppc in visudo to let backuppc run tar as root without a password. Like in a tip I read in the docs. I have read the documentation and searched the web for hours to solve this, but now I really would like some help. Can anyone give me som simple advises, or point me to a HowTo on how to solve this issue. Thanks /Niclas |
