On the apache machine you need to: - copy the BackupPC install directory (bin, lib, doc) over from the BackupPC server using the same path as on the server machine. - Note: BackupPC only runs on the server, not the apache machine. - NFS mount the BackupPC data directory on the apache machine, using the same path as on the BackupPC server. - copy the BackupPC_Admin script over to the apache CGI directory. - create the same backuppc user on the apache machine and make sure apache runs the CGI script as this user. - set $Conf{ServerPort} to some number above 1024. - set $Conf{ServerMesgSecret} to a hard-to-guess string. - restart (or reload) BackupPC on the server machine. - verify you can talk to BackupPC from the apache machine with a command like: su backuppc /path/to/bin/BackupPC_serverMesg status Craig |
