After a bit of work, I moved the code around and now we can actually decode every city/keep/village/castle of the game and move around. We can't open doors yet, but that is only a detail.
As a teaser, we have a screenshot of Lord British's castle to show: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/backtoroots/index.php?title=File:Screenshot-Back_to_roots_---_Version-_1.32-3.png.
Next is actually getting the doors to work and then how to get the stairs/ladders to work.
As parsing and handling continues, the first city has been decoded. Go to the screenshot page to see a bit what we're talking about : https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/backtoroots/index.php?title=Screenshots
Beginning last week, the project has started a new direction : we are stopping the support of Ultima 4 and have started looking into Ultima 5. This will help for the modularity of the engine and check that everything is consistent to handle multiple game structures.
As the project matures, I've taken the time to start putting up the wiki page (using MediaWiki). I'll be filling it up with information about the project and slowly adding content.
I'll be adding a bug tracking system and a forum too as we go forward.

As things advance, it is sometimes fun to have a second on a project. I've given access to Dacosta from Strasbourg. He is learning C++ so I'll be mentoring his submissions here but hopefully he'll learn fast !
Welcome again and good luck!
