for a new project I'm evaluation Babeldoc.
Congratulations to the progrmmers! Babeldoc is great!
But now to my question:
Looking on the documentiation and the sorces I found HTTP and SOAP writers and feeders. Am I right that the feeders are installed on the server side for requesting documents (for the client writers) and triggering pipelines on server side?
So where are the HTTP and SOAP scanners? I would need some because I can't access the customer system - it has to poll my webserver.

You need the scanner. The scanner will periodically (cron-like configuration) go out to the various sources for data and then "pull-down" the documents and then forward them to feeders - which initiate pipeline processing.
