Just wondering if there is any use case for working with a set of related documents... for instance, an email with two attachments.  In this case we might like to consider three related documents - the email body, and each of the two attachments.

Or a html page and the related images.

Let's create a use case:  Bruce wants to set up an pop3 mailbox to vet prospective suitors for his daughter.  Applicants send in an email containing two attachments: an xml file, and a photo.  Bruce wants to use babeldoc to transform the incoming application into a web page in his suitors catalog.

    Is this possible today, or?

      To answer my own question:

At the moment it is possible to design a pipeline which will do one thing with the attached xml document and something else with the atttached image.  A relationship between the documents is implicit based up on some set of shared attributes attributes (such as the subject line and the from header) of the original mail.

There's no explicit relationship, so it would be difficult to do something like be able to send back an email saying, "thanks for the xml file, but you forgot to send the image".
