I already have a experimental version of ping, that I can slightly modify
and make it
a primitive version of  ping( I am well versed with UNIX alone so this is
done with
raw socket programming. I hope this is fine as it will not work with
WINDOWS.
If you need a version that works both on windows and on UNIX, I will need to
experiment out a little before I  can program this.)
