When I try to compile te source i get this: Makefile:1: ../Make.defines: No such file or directory make: *** No rule to make target `../Make.defines'. Stop. I can't run the executable on redhat 7.2 because of some library version errors... Could you send the make.defines ? ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ? Get it at http://www.personal.ro/ |

Hi, I've been talking to terrorixy (ter...@ya...) and we decided that the tool what we'll do should be something like nessus ( www.nessus.org ). So that's the direction we're going ... The difference is that our project will include a packet sniffer, maybe a log analyzer and other stuff (if we can doit) so what I want is a universal tool :)) And thanks to ra...@jn... to trying out the sniffer ... ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ? I need to reformat and install it. Once that is done, I will have the program ready - that might take a few more days. regards, muthu |

OK. I have a few assignments for those who want to do something (you may choose whatever you want or do your own ideas): 1. try to write a program that does buffer overflow tests 2. find out sendmail version and op. system type and version (un*x, microsoft *, etc) 3. write a program that checks for anonymous ftp, remote login, finger etc. 4. find out commands that are supported by smtp 5. find out everything that you can about www services running 6. if someone does know ncurses develop a menu based program that can be used with this project. Sorry for replying so late but I'm short on time... Regards, zokker ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ? I have done a packet sniffer that outputs header infos but I can't post to the sourceforge because right now I don't have ftp access. So if somebody could do that for me please drop me a mail. I also need some people to test it so please if you can have root rights do a few test (to make sure that is working correctly). I included the .gz file as attachment. About that ping: it's ok with raw socket (we don't need a win version right now). I thought that this could be used to see if a host is alive. I'm happy to see that you are still interested in this... Thanks, zokker ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ? I am sorry that I could not reply to this mail for such a long time. I hope this is fine as it will not work with WINDOWS. If you need a version that works both on windows and on UNIX, I will need to experiment out a little before I can program this.) regards, muthu |

I think it's time to do some actual work. So I need somebody to: 1. write a program to find out op. system type and release 2. check for running services (version info maybe) 3. a primitive ping Could you all reply to see how does what ? zokker ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ?
