#787 Unable to open/save .cml files

I'm having troubles with opening and saving a .cml file. Using the 1.2.0 version. When opened from the terminal, no error messages appear whatsoever. The message when trying to open the file is "Failed to read the molecule file" (translated from Spanish version). When trying to save, the message is "The file extension for the file .../name.cml can't be written". Tried to install another version of OpenBabel (devel version, cloned from github) just today and no changes were found.
