AviSynth (http://avisynth.sourceforge.net/) is a unique
and wonderful application that comes in the form of a
windows video codec. It allows you to script filters,
segmenting, etc, from multiple video files in one
AviSynth batch file. Since the AviSynth interpreter is
a video codec itself, any other video application in
windows can then use a .AVS file instead of a .AVI for
display, processing, encoding, or whatever, just as if
it was any other video file.

I guess ideally, an port would be written from the
AviSynth sources. But do you think it would be possible
and not too difficult to make libavifile read .AVS
files and pass them off to the avisynth.dll? Do you
think that's all it will take to make avisynth.dll work
under linux? Or is this completely the wrong way to go
about it?

Thanks,
Tyler
