If I open an mpg file in avidemux 2.5.1 and click onto the play button I get a window with the message: "Trouble initializing audio device". After clicking onto the "Ok" button, the video is played but without sound.

I've got an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96, which is running with the ALSA kernel module snd-ice1712.
I'm using kernel 2.6.31.4 and ALSA 1.0.21.a on Arch Linux. I have neither arts nor esd installed as I'm using Xfce and ALSA dmix works troublefree.

ALSA is working perfectly with this card and with other audio software.

On the terminal I get these error messages among others:
[Alsa] Using device :dmix
[Alsa]Error setting format.
[Alsa] Using device :dmix
[Alsa]Error setting format.

Changing the line
<alsa_device>dmix</alsa_device>
to
<alsa_device>default</alsa_device>
in ~/.avidemux/config doesn't help.
