Sorry, I have no idea about Eclipse on that.  You probably have to
convince Eclipse that the firmware present in the microcontroller
indeed matches your project's output, even though they were not
allowed to reprogram it.

Btw., -gdwarf-4 would be the debugging format most suitable for
recent versions of GDB.
