Maybe this is a bug I'd forgotten about. Changing the index in Operations doesn't update the Slice Index field either.
1. Load vap:http://themis.ssl.berkeley.edu/data/themis/tha/l1/ffp_32/2009/tha_l1_ffp_32_20090101_v01.cdf?tha_ffp_32
2. I see another bug: the GUI is insensitive when "|slice1(2)" is Operations.
3. Add another plot below of the same type. Flip focus back and forth to make GUI sensitive.
4. Arrow up on the argument "3" of "|slice1(3)" to verify this works.
5. Note it doesn't update "Slice Index" until you focus on it. This was probably a work-around.

This is all much cleaner, the only problem remaining is number 5, where the slice index doesn't update. I'm lowing the priority.
This is all working, surely fixed many years ago.
