Anthony =0D In your previous message you said that "They're going outlaw exposed= rotors and propellers on all uav's soon in the interest of public safety."= Is this just your thoughts or have you read this somewhere? And , if this= has come from some legitimate source, who are "they". I'm currently= looking into UAV possibilities and am interested in any legal issues that= may have to be accommodated. =0D Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. =0D Alex, -----Original Message----- From: aut...@li...= [mailto:aut...@li...]On Behalf Of Anthony= Ball Sent: 31 March 2005 02:17 To: aut...@li... Subject: [Autopilot] BIY uav *** WARNING *** This mail has originated outside your organization, either from an external partner or the Global Internet.=0D Keep this in mind if you answer this message.=0D =0D Hi, =0D My name is Tony. =0D I have been an rc pilot for 12 years, and now I would like to=0D have an BIY uav. =0D 'They' are going outlaw exposed rotors and proppellers on all uav's soon in the interest of public safety. =0D I have looked at commercial products and am Highly impressed with their capabilities.Their costs are inhibiting for now. Also the red tape for uav's is a nightmare. =0D I am looking for BIY modules and code to get a basic .40 trainer flying Uav mode via tcp/ip wireless network. =0D My idea is to bolt two .40 ducted fan units to the front=0D of the fuselage on the side.=0D =0D Then give them a 90 deg tilt from the default flaps channel=0D =0D At hover, =0D Throttles linked will give outright altitude control. =0D A rear electric ducted fan linked to the elevator channel will give speed control (-0.5 stall speed - +0.8 stall speed) =0D Roll control is via differential throttles (front fans) fed from the aileron channel. This can be configured to give sideways motion in hover mode. =0D Rudder is emulated with an electric ducted unit mounted into the fin with left/right thrust to yaw the tail around. =0D Most of these analogies are default for fixed wing flight.=0D i.e. throttle for altitude elevator for speed control ailerons for roll control rudder for orientation control =0D In flight mode, Rear electric fans are disabled Front fans tilt to forward thrust angle ( 0 deg) =0D Can anyone help with a hardware / software package? =0D Regards=0D =0D Anthony Ball =0D Ball Tech ******************************************************************** This email and any attachments are confidential to the intended recipient and may also be privileged.
