Does anyone know if it is acceptable to overclock the Mega32 by about 15%? I noticed in the data sheet that it has UART settings all the way up to 20 MHz, despite the chips only being rated at 16 MHz. The best one is 18.432 MHz, which gives 0% error rates all the way up to 115k baud. 38.4 just isn't enough serial bandwidth to send all the sensor data at 200 Hz and deal with the other anciliary outputs. I'm working on adding multiple servo power bus monitoring (current and voltage), as well as closed loop feedback for each servo. All of these extra features need serial port bandwidth. I would also like to increase the sensor output rate to 400 Hz so that we are well above Nyquist for all the sensors. Based on some things that I have read online, the issue with running at 20 MHz has to do with EEPROM accessing. Interestingly, most of the satellite TV crackers are using Mega's at 18.432 MHz, seemingly without any problems. Trammell -- -----|----- hu...@os... W 240-283-1700 *>=====[]L\ hu...@ro...
