Hi Willem, Last summer I spent some time trying to compile some autopilot stuff on windows using Mingwin. Forget it, it's a major porting job because of the graphics. I eventually downloaded RedHat linux 8 and got the simulator working without too much effort. RHL supports dual boot, so you can add it to a windows installation if you make a disk partition for linux. I don't have windows on my linux machine and have used wine to run windows apps. Wine works reasonably well. I'm not a software person either and I got through it all with some help from Tramm.
