  1. I'd love to see RegEx searches incorporated into this tool.
  2. The "Include file paths when searching" could perhaps be brought to the main GUI for quick access.

I have been using this very powerful yet free and resource-friendly tool called Voidtools Everything (http://www.voidtools.com) which is by far the best and fastest file search utility available, free or commercial. Voidtools used to maintain an API for easy integration into third party software; I don't know if the API is still available, but it might be worth contacting the Voidtools to check, as Everything and Aural Probe combined would be explosive.

Thanks for the ideas! I got regex working in 1.5 which is coming shortly.

RE: moving "Include file paths when searching" into the main GUI, I'm interested to hear more about how you use this? I intended for users to only need to rescan their folders once (since this is a slow operation) and just use the main GUI after that, do you find you need to toggle this on/off frequently and rescan frequently?

I looked into Voidtools Everything, looks very cool and agree it would be a great marriage with Aural Probe. Unfortunately it'd be a pretty massive job and as Aural Probe is just a hobby project I'm really only doing maintenance releases with some minor new functionality based on requests. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Michael, thanks a lot for this feature!! I'll be testing it in depth over the weekend.
